TASMANIAN DEVIL UNZOO – A WORLD FIRST
Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, the world’s first intentional Unzoo project, embraces natural habitats for native animals that replicate or restore natural landscapes. It is much more than the appearance of no cages or barriers.
There is now no boundary fence so the local wild native creatures can interact with our Unzoo environment, enabling you to observe wild animal behaviour without the need for captive.
You’ll observe wild possums and birds in nesting boxes, hand-feed free-ranging wallabies and wild parrots and encounter wild echidnas, pademelons, native fish in our stream and often wild sea-eagles as you join our guides to explore our bushland environment.
Our animals have more independence and old zoo animal management methods have been replaced by the philosophy of simply living with the local wildlife.
